It's officially a long 'ole drive home boys !!.. Set off at 7.30 last night as you know, from the shores of Loch Ness. Weird and wonderful drive (little bit of separation anxiety but no tears.. to be honest sharing a bed with Tim's no picnic !!) back along the canal, crossing over at many of the points where we had to have the bridges opened for us, and following along the edge of the infamously named Loch Lochy !Even got down to a single track along the shores (at which point I did stop to check what address Andrew had programmed into the Sat Nav )before going up over the Cairngorns, and back across towards Glasgee, past Many a castle, distilleries, and various thistles. Hit the end of the Motorways at around Midnight, and put the pedal to the Metal ( no small feat in Andrew's renta-tank !)Got home seriously knackered at 2am !!
Fab trip guys, a real different experience from each day to the next... From the Scary run across to Islay on the first day - trying to stay ahead of the gales ( and only just managing ) to the whiskies at 10.30am with Donnie, onto the seclusion of Kerrera ( we still found a pub !) And into the Majestic (yet slightly crackers) Caledonian !
Keep a close look-out for the Monster... oh and by the way, I've just seen the weather report.. you might want to hurry-up cos there's snow on the way ( I am not kidding !) Still, we had every other condition, so you might just as well complete the set.
